Course Description:
I love theater and especially love musicals. I enjoy being in shows (I’ve been in 7) but I also enjoy the many aspects behind the scenes and have done hair and makeup as well as crew for a few other shows. I hope that through this class I can help others learn more about theater as well as learn very specific parts about performance and gain confidence on the stage.
Acting is basically just storytelling. Many people are interested in acting, and may even have a bit of a flair for the dramatic, but don’t know how to develop their skills. A basic theater class can provide for experienced and inexperienced actors with: Techniques, discipline, observation skills and the ability to take direction from others. In this class we will work on these skills as well as have a lot of fun!

- Purchase a script for Narnia by Jules Tasca. Make sure you choose the option “For Classroom Study” in the dropdown menu at this link: https://www.dramaticpublishing.com/narnia
- Each student will need a space they can stand and move around in, in front of their webcam!
- Students will also need to go see a show. This doesn’t have to be a Broadway tour! It can be at a local church, high school, college or community theater.
- Students will be paired up and work on a duet with another student. For this duet they will need to meet online with the other student outside of normal class time, which will be easy to do using a free Appear.in room.
