Course Description:

Join me in exploring Julius Caesar, a play that  is both political drama and personal tragedy.  A fascinating look at the power of words to sway public opinion, this play explores many themes including loyalty and betrayal, power and tyranny, manipulation and inner struggles.

The first 7-8 weeks will consist of reading and discussing the play, becoming familiar with the language and plot. During this time we will choose a portion of the play to be performed together.  We will have a few weeks of rehearsals, during which time students will focus on memorizing their lines and designing a costume, puppet or some other creative method to perform their part. The final week of class will be a live, online performance of our chosen act.

Note: a spring class will be offered for A Winter’s Tale, and registration priority will be given to any fall semester students, as students who take both semesters can credit the class as a year long class.
